The Inner Odyssey: Experiencing Mesmerica’s Magic

We recently got to experience Mesmerica at The Saunders Planetarium at MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry) in Tampa this week, and it was nothing short of transcendent. Nestled inside one of Florida’s most iconic science destinations, MOSI’s new planetarium became a portal to something far beyond the stars…a soul-stirring journey through sound, color, and emotion. Mesmerica is part meditation, part immersive art experience, and completely unlike anything we've seen before.
As the lights dimmed and the dome transformed into a swirling, 360-degree dreamscape, the world outside faded. Composer James Hood’s ethereal soundtrack enveloped the space in rich, layered sound, while hypnotic visuals unfolded above.
It felt like you were inside a kaleidoscope…with every turn, a new emotion felt and a new adventure into the mind unlocked.
For the heart and soul, this was pure nourishment. Mandalas bloomed and dissolved like breath. Landscapes shifted between surreal and sacred. Celestial symbols, geometric waves and radiant fractals moved in harmony with the music, each scene flowing into the next with meditative ease.
The show itself is only an hour, but it leaves a lasting imprint. You walk away a little more grounded, a little more expanded, and somehow more connected — to yourself, to the universe, and to the unseen beauty that pulses just beneath the surface of everything.
Mesmerica is more than a show… it’s a ceremony of sight and sound. For the wanderers, the healers, the artists and the seekers, this is your reminder to slow down and drop in. Let your imagination wander. Let your heart open. Let the light in.
